Finding a good Decking Company
So you have decided it is time to bring your deck to life and restore or refinish your decking timber. You may be building a deck for the first time and require design, planning and construction for an outdoor entertaining area for your home. For a longlasting, designer deck, you will need to call on the services of professional decking experts who will employee creative designers, advanced technologies, equipment and products to get the job done right.
Finding a good Decking Company
Were you happy with the quality provided by the decking company?
Everybody has their own ideas of quality, so you should take a look at their deck and judge for yourself. Pay attention to cut-in areas around doors, windows and trim. Are the decking boards trim and well butted against the exterior? Proper surface preparation, measuring and finishing always leads to better, more pleasing results.

Outdoor decking
Did the decking company protect other surfaces, landscapes and home exteriors?
Decking projects can create a great deal of mess during the preparation, digging, sawing, construction, sanding, buffing, staining and polishing processes. Your decking company will need to be experienced and skilled to be able to avoid damage to your home exterior and garden landscape. Take a look at the surrounding areas of a completed job and ask if there rough surfaces, exposed nails or leftover timber after the decking company left the premises.
Were they courteous and polite?
This is a very important consideration. The entire experience, from beginning to end, needs to be as stress free as possible. Plus if the decking team enjoy their job, the quality and attention to details will be better. Their attitude can and will affect the entire decking project. Hopefully this will be the first question you ask. If the answer to this question is “no” then do not go any further, you don’t want to work with that company.
Is the warranty included?
If a warranty was included find out if it has a reasonable amount of time before expiring, 3 years is enough, and if it has any value. Simply stating a warranty isn’t enough. Get it in writing and understand its limitations! A good decking company is happy to stand behind their warranty. Good decking companies use quality materials and know their level of expertise. If a decking company will not offer a warranty, this may be a problem.
